The season finale of True Blood was shown just last Monday and I still can't believe that 12 episodes went by so fast :( The new season won't be until next year so right now I'm sad and a bit frustrated to be left hanging. I want more, more, more!

I had my second fitting last Saturday. And again, the feeling was surreal but I felt calmer this time around. Plus I came prepared. Ha ha! I've brought with me my shoes and jewelries to check if they would go well with my dress. I'm kinda proud of myself cos I've my choice of accessories earned nods of approval from my couturier, coordinator and mommy dear :) But you know what the best part is.. they could now zip my gown easily :P
That part of the agenda done, my mom and I went to shop for her shoes. My mom is very particular with shoes cos she wanted them to be very comfortable. We weren't so lucky to find my mom her shoes so we decided to schedule another mall visit and hit the supermarket to buy groceries for my cooking demo for Myke and his mom :D MEETING DE FAMILIA To demonstrate my ability of being a good wife, I decided to cook for Myke and my FMIL (future mother-in-law) who decided to visit yesterday. I've been looking around the Home Cooking Rocks site to look for easy to prepare recipes. I decided to make Chocolate and Coffee Panna Cotta (which I already tried last Christmas) and the Fish and Tokwa. For the greens, I just thought of making brocolli with oyster sauce. Since I have to let the panna cotta set, I prepared this the day before. Well, I must have miscalculated the measurements (since I was attempting to make a big batch) because the gelatin didn't set. I've tried to do some damage control by adding more gelatin to the coffee layer but it still didn't harden. I decided to let it sit overnight hoping it will set. Come yesterday morning (the day of the visit), I was excited to taste my panna cotta that I ate a small cup for breakfast. This small act of katakawan turned out to be a bad decision. A very bad decision. I love reading. I'm mostly into novels - modern fiction and sometimes classical literature. And I want to share with you some of the books I've read and tell you what I think about it. Be reminded that these are MY views as an average reader and this is not a paid review. You may want to read my disclaimer, just in case. *wink* So first off, this was the last book that I've re-read (yes, re-read). It's Friday Night Cocktails by Allison Rushby. Two best friends, one killer hangover, and a whole world of badly behaved men - let the games begin... Gemma Barton, here - single girl and website creator. Okay, so I'm not here to decry all men as commitment phobias and complete dogs, but you know, sometimes they are. After one more date with Mr. Oh-I-Didn't-Tell-You-I-Was-Already-Engaged and a round of giant margaritas, my friend Sarah and I decided to make "the list": a chronicle of all the guys who've ever lied, cheated, or tried to have a threesome with your best friend. Well, our little revenge website seemed like a brilliant idea at the time - and soon disgruntled women all over the world were chiming in. It was great. Suddenly Sarah and I were stars, I had a male personal assistant, and all was right with the world. Or so I thought, until big trouble started brewing on my computer. There's someone out there in cyberspace who's just made me see the error of my ways. Maybe the male of the species aren't out to get me after all. Could it be time to stop listening to my inner rage queen and start listening to my heart...? I haven't been to the movie house much lately so I compensate by having Myke download them for me or wait for the DVD (Ugh! Agony.) So here are some flicks that are next in line for my viewing pleasure :)
Myke and I had a little R&R last Saturday although we did some wedding related chores on the side. We headed first to the Manila Cathedral to submit some required forms and pay out the balance and some other additional fees. A quick trip to the Postal Office and then we're off to the mall :) Side kwento: Myke's brother who is to be our groomsman is currently working at UAE and he needed our invitation so he could show it to his boss when he asks for a leave. And because of that, sending him the invites was a priority. We first inquired at LBC for their courier service cost and we were quoted a whooping Php 2000! I was like, "WTF?!". And mind you, it wasn't a next day delivery. Sheesh! So we headed to the Post Office and we were relieved that they have express delivery for only P480. I know that most are a bit reluctant to trust our postal service but we had to give it a shot cos the 2000 peso LBC fee isn't really practical especially since we had to allocate our budget wisely. With some of the legwork done, we had a nice lunch at one of my fave resto, Sbarro. I usually order their ziti or spaghetti but I decided to give their Puttanesca a try. Well, it wasn't really that good cos the sauce of my pasta was dry. The fish in marinara sauce was good though so was Myke's Angus steak deep dish pizza. He he!
I'm a Glee addict so I'm really anticipating their new season.
I've read some spoilers and sneak peeks for the second season and I was really psyched to read that they're doing a Britney Spears episode. Hey, check out my new banner. Designed by moi :) Coming up with a design was a bit hard since I wanted something that would somehow show the things I love and would probably be blogging about. My first idea was a photo collage but searching the net for pictures was time consuming. So I opted to just have the subject topics in overlapping text. I think it suits my personality too since it's very simple with a feminine touch but it's a bit chic as well.
